Avandia is used to help treat diabetes. Also known as rosiglitazone.
Some patients who have taken Avandia have experienced serious heart complications and have even died. Avandia has also been linked with such negative effects as stroke, brittle bones susceptible to breaks and fractures, and partial blindness
The FDA issued a warning in 2007 that this medication with associated with increased risk of heart attack; it is currently under the FDA’s Drug Safety Communication status of “ongoing review” for risks of cardiovascular complications.
